ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN I
(ARC60208)
An introduction to architectural design, it focuses on design expression based on the perception of 'self' and the body.
Project 1: Geometry And Form
Using one Ordering Principle of our choice, we were tasked to create 3 models representing 3 primary elements and 1 model combining 2 or more primary elements. We also had to provide 4 tattoo stamps based on the plan, section, elevation and top view and a design process journal (DPSJ).
I chose Rhythm as my Ordering Principle.

Project 2: Structure and Body
Famously known as the 'Bamboo Project', we were required to work in groups to construct a 1:1 structure using bamboo. We used additional materials like rope and steel for joinery. The final structures were placed at 'Kebun P3KU USJ 18'.
Our group designed 'The C.O.V.E, which stands for comfort, openness, verdancy and elegance. The C.O.V.E is a portal and place intended to be a place of serenity and bring comfort to those who seek shelter. With a semi-open layout that provides privacy without feeling too enclosed, users are able to recline against the graceful and ergonomic curve of the structure and enjoy the greenery that surrounds them.

Project 3: Space and Sensory
We were tasked to develop a structure based on a narrative derived from our Project 1 models. We had to incorporate the concept of 'Path, Portal and Place' into an architectural experience.
I re-visited my process from Project 1 and created a 'Sanctuary of Solitude'. My narrative surrounded the concept of seclusion and an escape from reality.
